Our Services

The St. Thomas East End Medical Center Corporation has a multidisciplinary team of medical providers. This includes a full time internal medicine physician, 2 family medicine physicians, one full time, the other part time, a pediatrician, a full-time OB/GYN, a full time Physicians' Assistant, and a part-time dietician, and a part-time high risk OB/Gyn provider. There is also a dentist who provides pediatric services on Mondays and Fridays. And the adult patients are able to see the dentist Tuesday-Thursday. The providers are available to each other for consultation, whether urgent or non urgent care is necessary. Preventative primary healthcare services provided by STEEMCC are the following:

Pediatrics

Medical care of infants, children, and adolescents.

Nutrition

Medical care and support in the management of food and nutrition to maximize their impact on health and diseases.

Allergy/Asthma

Medical care for a number of conditions caused by hypersensitivity of the immune system, and a condition in which the airways narrow and swell causing breathing difficulty.

Women's Health

Medical care for women with health related concerns affecting predominantly females.

Adult and Children Dentistry

Dental care to diagnose, prevent, and treat diseases and conditions of the oral cavity.

      Medical care of the elderly and the aging.

Immunization

Medical care boost immunity or resistance to infectious diseases through the administration of a vaccines.

On site Laboratory Services

Accurate, and  quality testing and diagnostics to help diagnose and treat patients.

Men's Health

Medical care for men with health related  concerns affecting predominantly males.

Behavioral Health

Medical care in support of emotions, behaviors, and biology relating to a person's mental well-being, ability to function in every day life, and concept of self.

HIV tests, Hemoglobin A1Cs, INRs, rapid strep testing, and pregnancy testing is done on site. Other laboratory studies are collected by a skilled phlebotomotist and sent off site for testing. Those patients with abnormal pap smears receive colposcopies and cone biopsies in the center if indicated. There is little need to seek services off-site unless specialty care, hospitalization, or radiology procedures are needed.

Immunization services are offered daily and also during some Saturday sessions. The Saturday sessions have been very successful, allowing us to meet the need of the community during the back to school period. STEEMCC has partnered with the DOH to provide immunization clearance letters and are now using the rejuvenated immunization registry.

Cancer screening and prevention remains a top priority. Physical exams, pap smears, digital prostate exams, and breast exams are all offered at STEEMCC.

This health center is a Health Center Program grantee under 42 U.S.C. 254b, and a deemed Public Health Service employee under 42 U.S.C. 233(g)-(n).

This health center receives HHS funding and has Federal PHS deemed status with respect to certain health or health-related claims, including medical malpractice claims, for itself and its covered individuals.
